Lost among all of the "special dividend madness", as companies paid out cash prior to year-end given the uncertainties of where tax rates would end up, JG Boswell was a participant. Very quietly, par for the course, the company paid out an $8.00 per share special dividend on 12/20. You would have never known about it, unless you carefully checked the transaction history in your brokerage account (if that's where your shares are held). That's $24 in dividends per share for BWEL in 2012.

When does JG Boswell normally have their annual meeting?
The annual meeting is typically in October.
I received a call from my brokerage today asking if I'd like to vote the Boswell proxy, which is just a Board election. No other info offered. Annual meeting is on 10/22/2013 at 10 AM in Pasadena.
Do you know if financials are available at the meeting? Will anything substantive be discussed?
Have never attended their annual meeting, nor have I ever received proxy, and have held shares since 2002. I do not know what will be discussed at meeting, but believe annual reports are available. Or, you can contact the company--they need to see proof that you own shares.
